Dr. James Smith is from Tampa, FL and completed his undergraduate and medical education at Wake Forest University. He completed his residency in internal medicine at MUSC in Charleston, where he met and married his wife Lauren. He then returned to Wake Forest to complete fellowships in general and interventional cardiology.
Dr. Smith is a second generation interventional cardiologist. He specializes in all aspects of general cardiology with a particular focus on coronary interventions and peripheral vascular disease.
At home he enjoys spending time with his wife and children Eleanor and Jack. He has a lifelong passion for fishing, boating and the outdoors. He is grateful to God for the opportunity to practice medicine to help improve the lives of his patients.
